For centuries honey has been used to heal many ailments but it is also very effective in supporting the body's natural defences. Honey contains a wide variety of natural vitamins, minerals and disease fighting antioxidants making it a valuable addition to your diet.

Honey and Apple Cider Vinegar Tea

Servings: 1 glass


1 apple

2 tsp honey (our coffee blossom, durian blossom and cotton blossom honeys all work well with this recipe)

1 bag Herbal tea

1 tbspn apple cider vinegar

boiling water


  1. Bring water to a boil and take off heat.

  2. Peel, core and slice the apples.

  3. Add the apple pieces and tea bag to a mug.

  4. Pour on the boiled water and steep for 2 minutes

  5. Take out tea bag and allow to cool.

  6. Add the vinegar and honey

  7. Pour over ice.


BeeMa honey's wild Black Forest Honey is particularly effective in easing coughs and soothing sore throats. A teaspoon on its own will assist with a sore throat but this traditional syrup will help with those tickly coughs.

Honey, Thyme and Licorice Cough Syrup
Honey, Thyme and Licorice Cough Syrup 

Servings: 200ml


2 tbspn Licorice root, peeled and grated

2 tbspn dried thyme

1 cup BeeMa Black Forest Honey

1 cups water​


  1. Add the water and licorice to a pan.

  2. Cover, bring to the boil and simmer for 20 minutes.

  3. remove from the heat and add the thyme. Replace the lid and leave to infuse for 20 minutes.

  4. Strain the liquid and stir in the honey.

  5. Pour into a sterile bottle. Label and date it.

  6. Store in a cool dark place and use within 6 months.

Dosage: Adults: 2 to 3 teaspoons 3 to 6 times daily

Children: 1 tspn 3 to 4 times daily


Honey is high in carbohydrates and natural glucose, it is a fast way to deliver energy. It is easily absorbed and kind to the internal organs, the fructose sugars in honey also help the liver to break down alcohol. The orange juice in this remedy helps with rehydration, but drink pleanty of water too. Try a spoonful of honey dissolved in water throughout the day or take a spoonful of honey before you start drinking as a preventive measure.

Honey, Orange and Egg Hangover Cure

Servings: 1


2 Eggs, raw

1 3/4 cups Orange juice

1 Tbspn Cotton Blossom Honey


  1. Place all the ingredients in a food processor or blender and blend to combine. 

  2. Pour into a glass and drink immediately.
