FRENCH TOAST with HONEY BUTTER
French toast originates from a Roman cookbook called Apicius and was sliced bread dipped in milk and eggs, fried and covered in honey. The French called it ‘pain perdu’ or lost bread but it was the English that named it French toast.

Total Time: 10 minutes
Ingredients:
French Toast
4 pc bread (size 10 x 5 x 5 cm)

2 pc egg (beaten well)
​
1/4 cup milk
​
1/4 cup Beema Honey Cotton Blossom
​
1/4 tspn salt
Honey Butter
125 gr unsalted butter
​
1 tbspn Cotton Blossom Honey
​
1/4 tspn salt
To serve
1 tspn icing sugar
​
Beema's Infused Honey
Instructions:
French Toast
1. Remove the crusts and cut the bread into 4 pc (size 10 x 5 x 5cm)

2. Combine the eggs, milk, honey, salt.
​
3. Soak the bread in the mixture for 5 minutes.
​
4. Lightly fry the bread in butter on all sides until golden brown.
Honey Butter
1. Whip the butter with an electric whisk.
​
2. Add the honey and salt and continue to whisk.​
Top Serve
1. Place the French Toast in the center of the plate.
​
2. Sprinkle with the icing sugar.​
​
3. Spoon the honey butter on top.
​
4. Drizzle with your favourite Beema's Infused Honey.
