The Bee population has been declining in recent years and the role of the beekeeper is very important when it comes to achieving sustainable development. By restoring healthier bee populations and using management care for bees in a way that respects their natural processes we can improve the ecological agriculture which can help pollination.

By using local Beema honey you are helping us to continue growing our bee colony’s that support agricultural farming and play a vital role in the countries ecosystem.Beema Honey only produce honey on land that is organic, land that has not been treated with chemicals and pesticides. These pesticides can poison and kill bees. In 2021 we created the Beema Honey Bee Sanctuary, a place where we can study organic farming supported by bee pollination. The bee sanctuary is home to indigenous species of bees including the Asian honey bee and different types of stingless bees. We are partnering with educational facilities to learn how to better protect and care for these bees. The Bee Sanctuary also acts as an educational facility teaching visitors the importance that honey bees do for the ecosystem.

Forest honey

Produced by one of the largest bees in the world, the giant wild Apis dorsata bees that forage for nectar in rainforests across the Indonesian archipelago. Home to some of the highest levels of biological diversity in the world. Village communities that would have cut down the forest before to sell for wood now have a sustainable method of income. By protecting the forests these poor indigenous rural communities and their ‘honey hunters’ can sustainably harvest honey, helping to protect and support the rainforests and wildlife of Indonesia while generating much needed income.

We have a deep respect for the bees and their forests, which is why we are committed to a sustainable honey harvesting approach. Our harvesters carefully select and climb up to each hive to collect directly from the source in its natural state. We never take all the honey from any hive, but instead are careful to collect only the excess, leaving the brood and enough honey for the hive to remain intact and healthy. This process also ensures that no harm comes to the queen or the colony. With this bee-friendly approach, wild hives are able to replenish the harvested honey quickly. We are committed to keeping the wild bees safe through every step of our harvesting process. This helps foster the natural cycle from flower to hive to home. So while enjoying Beema Honey products, know that you’re helping to support a thriving, sustainable mission.
